Welcome to "Shoj Travel"
Dear viewers, I am with you BM Belal. Today I am going to share with you detailed information about Panam Nagar, a popular place of interest in Dhaka.
Panam City or Panam City is well known to Bangladeshis as the "Lost City". Historic Panam Nagar is located in Sonargaon police station of Narayanganj district adjacent to Dhaka. In the 15th century Isha Khan established the first capital of Bengal at Sonargaon. The city is spread over an area of about 20 sq km in Sonargaon. In 2006, Panam Nagar was included in the list of 100 most ruined historical monuments in the world made by the World Monument Fund.
The city of Panama is surrounded by the Pankhiraj Canal. The Pankhiraj canal joins the Meghna river called Menikhali river. To the east of the city of Panama is the Meghna River and to the west is Shitalakshya. Muslin was exported through this river. There is a huge g ate at the entrance of the city of Panama, this gate was closed at sunset. Even now, no visitors can stay in the city of Panama after dusk.
There is an impression of difference in the construction style of different installations in the city of Panama. Every building in this then affluent city has a touch of exquisite craftsmanship and nobility. There are about 52 buildings on both sides of the road that runs through the heart of the city. There are 31 buildings on the north side of the main road and 21 on the south side. Some of these buildings are one storey, some are two or three storey.
In addition to residential buildings, there are mosques, churches, temples, monasteries, dance halls, galleries, inns, treasuries, court rooms, old museums, bathrooms and secret passages within the city. Besides, a 400-year-old mint house and an indigo factory made by the East India Company can be seen here.
